Why Hydroponics?

What are the requirements for plant growth? Surely you need the sun, water, and nutrients. These are the three key elements of plant growth. Most people know what traditional farming or classic agriculture involves. You till the land, spray water and than spray pesticides, while hoping the weather doesn’t destroy the yield. But what if there was another way to grow plants while still using these three key elements, and in return, use much fewer resources? There is such a form of agriculture in our society today referred to as hydroponics. In Greek terms, "hydro" stands for water, and "ponics" stands for labor. It is the labor of water mixed with nutrients to grow plants without soil. This form of agriculture requires much less work, land, and accomplishes higher yields while using less natural resources. However, hydroponics has yet to become a go-to solution for agricultural applications today. It is humanity’s goal to find solutions to problems involving the air, water, land, and biota. Hydroponics has the potential to solve these problems. Hydroponics provides a sustainable and alternative form of traditional agriculture.
